Transport companies registered outside the European Union, such as those from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia, that perform international transport operations within Slovenia or provide services to clients from Slovenia, are legally required to submit a driver posting notification before the start of the transport service. The posting notification must be submitted for each individual transport and applies to all types of transport, including transit through Slovenia.

Why is timely submission of driver posting notifications important?

In recent years, controls of transport operations in EU Member States have become increasingly systematic and more closely connected to digital databases. Control authorities now have the ability to quickly verify whether a driver posting notification has been submitted before the start of the transport operation. It is also important to know that a driver may perform an individual transport service in Slovenia:

– for a maximum of 7 consecutive days
– up to 90 days in total within a calendar year

For transport companies that regularly carry out international transport through Slovenia, incorrectly submitted or missing driver posting notifications can lead to significant financial consequences, as well as additional administrative inspections in future transport operations. Therefore, timely submission of notifications is an important part of administrative compliance with the regulations of EU Member States.

Penalties for Failure to Register Drivers in Slovenia

Control authorities in Slovenia regularly verify whether drivers have been properly registered before the start of transport operations. These checks are most often carried out during routine inspections of international road transport, where driver documentation, transport documents, and data on registration in the system of the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia are examined.

If a transport company fails to register the driver, significant financial penalties apply:

– from €3,000 to €30,000 for the legal entity
– from €500 to €1,500 for the responsible person within the company

In practice, this means that incorrectly submitted or missing registrations can lead to substantial financial consequences, as well as additional inspections of transport operations in the future. Therefore, timely administrative registration of driver postings is essential to avoid penalties and ensure smooth international transport operations.egavanje kazni i nesmetano obavljanje međunarodnog transporta.

Is Your Transport Company’s Administration Compliant with Regulations in Slovenia?

Before a driver starts transport operations in Slovenia, it is important to check several key points:

✔ Has the driver posting notification been submitted before the start of the transport?
✔ Has the notification been submitted for the specific transport operation?
✔ Does the driver carry the submitted notification during the transport?
